The Picora Core Promise: Your Images Never Leave Your Computer
Unlike traditional cloud image converters, Picora executes all image editing, compression, conversion, and processing directly in your web browser via HTML5 Canvas and WebAssembly. We do not transmit, inspect, collect, or store your photos on any server.
1. Information We Do Not Collect (Image Data)
When you use any of Picora’s tools (such as Image Resizer, Compressor, Crop, Photo Editor, or Watermark):
- No Cloud Uploads: Files selected in the application remain in your local device memory (RAM) and are processed via client-side JavaScript.
- No Server Retention: We operate zero cloud storage buckets or databases for user photos. When you close or refresh your browser tab, memory is cleared immediately.
- No Biometric or Facial Recognition: Tools like Blur Face operate via standard local canvas pixelation without uploading biometric identifiers.
2. Third-Party Advertising and Google AdSense
To keep all 24 image tools 100% free with unlimited access and no paywalls, Picora displays advertisements served by third-party advertising companies, primarily Google AdSense.
Google AdSense Disclosures & Cookies:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to your website or other websites on the Internet.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to Picora and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices or the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI).
3. Cookies and Web Storage
Cookies are small data files stored on your browser. Picora uses:
- Essential Technical Cookies: Used to save UI theme preferences (such as dark or light mode).
- Third-Party Ad Cookies: Deployed by Google AdSense and its advertising technology partners to measure ad performance, prevent click fraud, and render contextually relevant advertisements.
For full details on controlling or deleting cookies, please review our dedicated Cookie Policy.
4. Analytics and Server Log Files
Like almost all web servers, our hosting provider may automatically log standard non-personal connection data, including your IP address, browser user-agent, operating system, referring URL, and timestamp. This data is utilized solely for technical maintenance, DDoS mitigation, and ensuring server uptime. We do not cross-reference log files with any user identity.
5. Your Legal Rights (GDPR & CCPA / CPRA)
Depending on your location, you hold statutory rights under data protection laws such as the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA):
- Right to Know / Access: You may request information regarding any personal data we process. Because Picora does not store photos or user accounts, we maintain no database of user identities.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale / Sharing: We do not sell personal data. You can control personalized advertising cookies via Google Ads Settings.
- Non-Discrimination: Picora provides identical access to all tools regardless of whether you opt out of personalized tracking.
6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
Picora is a general audience image utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please notify us so we can investigate and address it promptly.
